BOSTON, MASS. - SUNY Geneseo junior Nicky Andrews set a program record in the 3,000 while his older brother, senior Alec Andrews notched a program record in the 800 as well leading the Knights in an outstanding weekend at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
The Knights' Distance Medley Relay team made up of Ezra Ruggles, Bryan Ivey, Kieran Sheridan and Nicky Andrews ran the seventh-fastest time in NCAA Division III history to place sixth at the David Hemery Invitational in Boston on Friday. The quartet finished the event in 9:49.15.
On Saturday, Alex Andrews finished with a program record in the 800, crossing the finish in 1:52.17 while Nicky added a program record in the 3,000 with a finishing time of 8:08.53. Jason Rappazzo earned a program record in the 200 with a finishing time of 22.11. Kieran Sheridan also improved upon his program record in the 400, finishing the race in 48.12. Sheridan teamed with Rappazzo, John Goldszer and Lance Jensen in the 4x400 to finish in 3:18.03, setting a program record in that event as well.
The Knights will compete again on Friday, Feb. 18 at Nazareth in a final tune-up before conference championships.
