GENESEO, N.Y. - Three SUNY Geneseo Women's Volleyball players earned State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference honors, led by senior libero Emily Haber, who was named the Defensive Player of the Year
Haber led the defensive effort for the Knights all season long, posting a SUNYAC-high 476 digs at a clip of 5.41 per set. The senior libero played all 88 sets for Geneseo, and eclipsed the 1,000 career dig mark halfway through the season. She will finish her career seventh all-time in career digs, and holds the program record for digs in a three-set match with 40 against Elizabethtown during the 2021 season. In addition to her 476 digs, Haber tallied 76 assists, a team-high 32 aces, and eight kills.
Senior middle blocker Jackie Borland earned Second-Team All-SUNYAC honors after a dominant season for the Knights. Borland hit a team-high .318 with 130 kills on 305 attempts. Borland's hitting percentage of .318 moves her into seventh in program history for hitting percentage in a season. In the Knights quarterfinal matchup against Oswego, she tallied 11 kills on 16 swings for a .688 to help lead the Knights to a straight-set victory.
Junior outside hitter Linda Rossi also nabbed Second-Team All-SUNYAC honors for Geneseo after leading the Knights offense with 208 kills.on 615 swings. Rossi was fifth in the conference in kills per set with 2.70. The Thornwood, N.Y. native posted a season-high 19 kills in the regular season match against Oswego, and had seven double-doubles on the season with kills and digs. Rossi's strong swing on the outside helped lead Geneseo to the SUNYAC semifinals and a 6-3 conference record.
