ROCHESTER, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team competed against St. John Fisher in the Empire 8 semifinals on Wednesday evening. The Knights were unable to advance to the finals, falling 3-0. Geneseo finishes out their 2025 season with a 15-12 overall record and a 7-4 conference record.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo was neck-and-neck with St. John Fisher for the majority of the opening set. With the Knights trailing 21-19, the Cardinals kept the pressure on to close out the set with a 25-20 victory.
• Geneseo came out of the second set looking for redemption, jumping to an early 5-1 lead. The Knights were able to maintain their edge until the Cardinals tied things up at 21. From there, the Cardinals recorded four consecutive points to finish with a 25-21 win.
• St. John Fisher controlled the entirety of the third set. Unfortunately, the Knights weren't able to mount a comeback, falling 25-17 and dropping the match 3-0.

 
QUICK FACTS:

• Zooey Gagnier led the defensive effort with 11 digs, finishing with a season total of 430. 
• McKenna Callari and Cory Elder recorded three aces each.
• Carolyn Mack picked up 20 assists in the match for a career total of 1,122.
