BROCKPORT, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior Kieran Sheridan set a facility record as he placed first in the 500m to lead the Knights to a first-place finish at the Welcome Back Meet, hosted by Brockport.
Sheridan finished the 500m race in 1:04.75 as four Knights placed in the top five in the event. Junior Nicky Andrews led the Knights to a 1-2-3 finish in the mile, placing first in 4:12.89. Sophomore Lance Jensen placed first in the 400 with a finishing time of 51.72. Junior Ezra Ruggles won the 800 placed at least one student-athlete in the top three of six different events.
The Knights placed first ahead of conference foes Cortland (3rd) and Brockport (4th) while also edging regional rivals Rochester (2nd), Nazareth (5th) and St. John Fisher (6th).
Geneseo will compete again on Saturday, Jan. 28 in the Conference Challenge Cup and Multi, hosted by Nazareth.
