ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team continued its strong start to the 2021-22 season on Friday afternoon with an impressive showing at the Nazareth Alumni Invitational.
Kieran Sheridan highlighted the meet for the Knights by setting a school record in the 400m with a time of 48:61. Sheridan's time is also currently the fastest in Division III. Later in the meet, Bryan Jacobs nearly broke one of the oldest school records for Geneseo in the 60m by posting a time of 6.96, missing the school record by .02 seconds.
Sheridan joined John Goldzser, Lance Jensen, and Stephen Hoare to win the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:22.55. Also picking up first place finishes was Lukas D'Alfonso in the 300m with a time of 36.36, Peter Moller in the 500m at 1:08.44, Joshua Goldberg in the 1000m with a time of 2:31.46, and Ryan Mitchell in the 3000m at 8:45.61. In the field events, Greg Cole-Allen won the shot put with a score of 15.01.
The Knights will now enjoy the semester break before returning to action on January 29 and 30 at Nazareth.
