ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Matthew Sayre finished first in the 5000, setting a facility record in the process, as the Knights competed in the All-Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by Nazareth on Friday.
Sayre finished the race in 14:39.67 to take first place and set a facility record. Senior Zachary Curran finished in second place in the pole vault, clearing 4.88m. The Knights' 4x400 team placed fourth with a 3:22.78 finish.
Junior Kieran Sheridan added a second place finish in the 400 with a mark of 49.94. Sophomore Riley Grossman placed sixth in the 3000 with a time of 8:38.87.
The Knights will compete again on Friday, March 13 in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C.
