MEDFORD, Mass. - The SUNY Geneseo men's and women's track & field teams completed their final tune-up for next week's NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at the Tufts Final Qualifying Meet, Saturday.
Seniors Alex Kramer posted the nation's seventh-fastest time in winning the 5,000 (14:31.02), while senior Alfredo Mazzuca (14:53.15) finished second.
The distance medley relay comprised of sophomore Luke Holtzman, sophomore Zachary Hannahoe, sophomore Gillan Faulkner and junior Isaac Garcia-Cassani finished first (9:56.21) with a time that currently ranks second in Division III.
On the women's side, senior Marissa Cossaro (9:50.45), senior Sara Rosenzweig (9:56.26) and sophomore Dana Cebulski (10:21.89) finished 2-3-4 in the 3,000. Cossaro's time currently ranks 11th nationally.
The distance medley relay team made up of sophomore Allison Fernandez, junior Lauren Bamford, senior Mackenzie Ross and sophomore Elise Ramirez finished third with a 11:55.68 clocking that ranks sixth nationally.
Qualifiers will be finalized on Monday for next Friday and Saturday's NCAA Championships, hosted by North Central (Ill.). Stay tuned to geneseoknights.com to find out which Knights will be making the trip.
