Men's Track & Field Competes at Bucknell, Ithaca

LEWISBURG, Pa. / ITHACA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Aidan Fullerton won the heptathlon with a school-record mark of 4649 points at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational and sophomore Bayley Zubler ran a personal-best in the 5K at the 17th-Annual Bucknell Bison Open and Multi to lead the Knights, Saturday.

En route to the heptathlon victory at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational, Fullerton moved into second in the high jump in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with a 1.94m jump (6'4.25") and improved his second place mark in the long jump to 6.78m (22'3"). Fullerton's heptathlon score puts him 12th in Division III.

Sophomore Alfredo Mazzuca finished eighth in the 5000-meter run (16:03.78) while juniorMatthew Herbert followed in ninth (16:04.22). First-year Alexander Burks came in ninth in the 3000-meter run (9:02.30) as sophomore Joe Chapman took 14th in the mile (4:36.37).

First-year Jesse Friel took 11th in the pole vault (3.90m), sophomore Aaron Murphy had a 12th-place finish in the triple-jump (12.70m) and first-year Zerrick Barlow took 14th in the 35-lb. weight throw.

At Bucknell, Zubler ran the 5K in 15:38.93, a personal-best by 20 seconds, to position him eighth in the conference.

Junior Michael Segelin ran a personal-best in the 200-meter dash (22.89) to move to second all-time at Geneseo while also finishing fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.14), another personal-best. Sophomore Nate Lo Parco took fourth in the 800-meter run (1:59.54) while Garcia-Cassani came in eighth (2:00.42).

First-year Isaac Garcia-Cassani took third place in the mile with a time of 4:19.25 while sophomore Travis Briggs came in sixth (4:21.08).

In the 3000-meter run, junior Brendan Wortner placed fourth (8:44.51) while sophomore John Sullivan took eighth (8:53.11).

Senior Phil Longo finished tied for sixth in the long jump (6.33m) and senior Luke Taverne tied for fourth in the high jump (1.89m).

The Knights' next competitions will be the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University (Feb. 13-14) as well as the Sunday Invitational at Cornell (Feb. 15).
