ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior Sean Fischer finished third in the 5K and senior Cody Orton finished third in the mile to lead the Knights to a fourth place finish out of 14 teams at the RIT Invitational, Saturday.
Oneonta took first place with a score of 172 as Hamilton (81), RIT (70.5), Geneseo (65) and St. John Fisher (63) rounded out the top-five.
Fischer took third place in the 5K (15:59.53) while sophomore John Panus (16:11.52) came in sixth and Matthew Byrnes finished seventh (16:18.24).
Orton completed the the mile with a time of 4:34.05 to place third while senior Phil Longo also had a third place finish in the high jump with a 1.88 meter jump (6'2").
Sophomore Connor Christian finished the 500-meter in 69.38 to place fifth as junior Michael Segelin finished fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.31.
In the 800-meter dash, sophomore Chris Odin (2:02.73), senior Ben Schwartz (2:02.84) and sophomore Brian Windisch (2:03.54) finished in fourth, fifth and sixth overall in a blanket finish.
The Knights return to action next Saturday (Jan. 24) at the Houghton Invitational which is set to begin at 10 a.m.
