ONEONTA, N.Y. – Members of the SUNY Geneseo track & field teams traveled to Oneonta on Saturday to complete at the May Meet at SUNY Oneonta's All College Track.
Junior Keira Wood won the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.61. She was the only Geneseo woman competing in the meet.
For the men, senior Thomas Clark placed second in the 5,000 meters, clocking a 15:21.87 finish, while first-year Travis Briggs was fourth in the 1,500 meters (4:06.69) and sophomore Nate Lo Parco was sixth in the 800 meters (1:56.21)
In the field events, senior Liam Collins and first-year Aaron Murphy took third (44 feet, 3 1/4 inches, 13.49m)) and fifth (42 feet, 6 inches, 12.95m), respectively, in the triple jump. Collins also placed eighth in the long jump (20 feet, ¼ inch).
Junior Luke Taverne rounded out the Knights' performances in the field events with a fifth place finish in the high jump, leaping 6 feet, 4 inches (1.93m).
Next weekend, the Knights will head to Troy, N.Y. to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships, hosted by RPI.
