LEWISBURG, Pa./PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo track & field teams sent competitors to two invitationals over the weekend, as some Knights traveled to Bucknell for the Bison Outdoor Classic, while other ran at the Roc City Classic, hosted by Nazareth.
ROC CITY CLASSIC - at Nazareth
Sophomore Kylie Ryan won the 400 meter hurdles, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:08.36.
A pair of relays finished third with ECAC Championship-qualifying times. The 4x100 relay comprised of junior Kristen Gottstine, first-year Natalie Barrea, first-year Joanna Heath and senior Samantha Hudson clocked a 50.49 performance, while the 4x400 squad made up of first-year Alexa Wandy, Ryan, Hudson and senior Victoria Kuberka ran to a 4:21.40 outcome.
Heath also placed in a tie for second place in the high jump, clearing 5-0 1/4 (1.53m), while junior Leigha Tilton tied for fifth at 4-10 1/4 (1.48m). Junior Melissa Lam finished in a tied for sixth in the pole vault with a jump of 8-10 1/4 (2.70m).
Senior DianaDorothy Yanoti placed fourth in the triple jump 34-6 3/4 (10.53m) while Wandyended up eighth in the long jump 17-1 1/2 (5.22m) Both were ECAC Championship qualifying jumps.
Junior Blair Wigsten placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:37.50)
For the men, junior Luke Taverne tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 6-0 3/4 (1.85m)
Junior Devon Anderson placed third in the discus with a toss of 135-5 (41.28m) while senior Jake Pasanen ended up tied for fourth in the pole vault at 13-5 1/4 (4.10m) and junior Phil Longo was fourth in the long jump with a 21-10 1/4 (6.66m) effort.
On the track, first-year Austin Donroe placed seventh in the 100-meter dash (11.65), while classmate Connor Christian placed fifth in the 400-meter dash (51.25). Senior JoshHalpern registered the sixth-fastest time in the 5,000 (16:18.33).
BISON OUTDOOR CLASSIC - at Bucknell
In a field comprised of Division I, II and III competitors, junior Keira Wood finished 10th in the invitational 1,500 meters (4:37.79) while senior Rebekah Steinke placed 12th in the unseeded 5,000 meters (18:08.74).
Junior Allison Hoh ran the 12th-fastest time in the 400 hurdles (1:04.88)
Juniors Alyssa Knott (37:15.16) and Cassie Goodman (37:21.01) ended up 18th and 20th, respectively, with ECAC Championship-qualifying times in the 10,000 meters.
For the men, senior Thomas Clark crossed the finish line 16th in the invitational 5,000 meters (14:47.32), while senior Chaz Abad finished 11th in the unseeded 10,000 (33:21.70).
