BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo Track and Field teams were back in action this weekend at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational, hosted by SUNY Brockport.
"It was a great field of athletes," remarked head coach Dave Prevosti. "I'm really happy with how we performed and how we have come together as a team."
Top finishers for the Knights included junior Benjamin Schwartz who took second in the 800-meter run (1:56.93) and junior Colby Burke, who finished third in the 400-meter dash (51.93). Junior Cohen Miles-Rath also logged a third-place effort in the mile (4:20.62).
In the field events, sophomore Aidan Fullerton placed second in the long jump (6.90m), just ahead of first-year David Pollock who leapt to fifth (6.87m), while junior Phil Longo tied fifth in the high jump (1.78 meters)
For the women, first-yearAlexa Wandy (1:02.71) ended up second in the 400 meters, while sophomore Ashton Hughes took third in the 5,000-meters (19:08.32). Junior Cassie Goodman placed fourth in the mile (5:20.91) as first-year Joanna Heath took second place in the high jump (1.55m).
The Knights will race next on February 15th in the Bomber Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y.
