BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo Track and Field team competed in the Brockport Invitational, hosted by SUNY Brockport at the Special Events & Rec Center on Saturday.
Sophomore Aidan Fullerton won the heptathlon with 4,629 points, shattering the school record by 1,604 points. He won the shot put and the high jump, while finishing second in the long jump and 60-meter dash to finish only 317 points shy of the SUNYAC record.
Senior Tony George won the 1,000 meter-run with a time of 2:34.57, while also placing third in the mile (4:23.68).
Junior Chaz Abad placed second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:28.4. First-year Chris Odin took third place in the 800 meter coming in at 1:59.61.
The mens' 4x200 meter relay team consisting of first-years Connor Christian, Austin Donroe and David Gandolfo, and junior David Layman grabbed third place, running a time of 1:35.67.
Junior Luke Taverne also took third place in the high jump (1.88 meters).
On the womens' side, junior Allison Hoh ran several strong races, placing first in both the 400 meter-run (1:00.83) and the 60-meter hurdles (9.33).
Junior Keira Wood won the 1-mile with a time of 5:09.29, while sophomore Blair Wigsten took second in the 5,000-meters (19:47.74). First-year Natalie Barrea placed fifth in the long jump (5.19 meters).
The Knights will next run on February 8th in the Golden Eagle Run Invitational Meet, also in Brockport.
