ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo track & field teams were both in action at the Tiger Invitational, hosted by RIT.
Junior Allison Hoh won the 60-meter hurdles with an ECAC Championship-qualifying time (9.41, 9.33 prelims), while first-year Bri Colello was hot on her heels in second place (9.56). The duo also joined with junior Kristen Gottstine and senior Samantha Hudson to cross the finish line first in the 4x200 relay (1:50.78).
Junior Alyssa Knott and first-year Marissa Bellusci also comprised a 1-2 outcome for Geneseo in the 5,000-meter run, (18:52.89 and 19:11.49), respectively.
Junior Keira Wood ran the day's fastest time and qualified for the ECAC Championship in the process in the 1,000 with a clocking of 2:59.88, while junior Cassie Goodman also ran an ECAC qualifying time in finishing runner-up (10:34.53) in the 3,000.
First-year Joanna Heath won the high jump (1.60/5-3) in her collegiate debut, followed by senior Carrie Levinn (1.55/5-1) in second.
For the men, first-year Alex Kramer ran to a first-place showing in the 5,000 (15:46.21), after first-year Connor Christian, senior Tony George, junior Benjamin Schwartz and junior Colby Burke teamed up to win the 4x400 meter relay (3:28.98). Christian also placed second in the 400 (52.20). Schwartz (1:57.86), George (1:58.04) and Burke (1:58.73) also finished 2nd-4th in the 800, respectively.
Both teams will be back in action next Friday and Saturday, traveling to Boston for the John Thomas Invitational. Some runners will also compete at the Art Farnham Invitational on Saturday at MIT.
