BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team had a strong showing at the Brockport Invitational this weekend, taking first overall out of 14 teams. Freshman
Brennan Delany highlighted the meet for the Knights, setting the program record in the heptathlon with 5119 points, breaking the record previously held by Aidan Fullerton in 2016. Delaney's mark is also good enough for fifth best in the nation.
Lance Jensen also provided a big highlight for Geneseo, winning the 60m with a time of 7.05. In the 60m hurdles,
Jackson Glocksey kept the winning ways going for the Knights with a first place finish and a time of 8.64.
Matthew Sheehan picked up a thrilling win in the 600m, beating out second place by .2 seconds with a time of 1:23.48.
Jack Hislop earned some points for Geneseo in the 800m, finishing second with a time of 2:01.01.
Micah McCulley then added another second place finish, posting a time of 2:34.71 in the 1000m.
In the distance events, Gabriel Spanbauer and
Jack Hicks took second and third in the 5000m, respectively, with times of 16:20.70 and 16:29.93.
Anson Butler tallied a win for the Knights in the 3000m, posting a time of 8:42.09. In the mile,
Aidan Glynn posted a time of 4:27.59 for fourth place.
Brendan Style highlighted the field events on Saturday with a third place finish in the triple jump at 12.52m.
