GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team finished seventh overall at the NCAA Championship Meet in Birmingham, A.L. this weekend, posting 27 points behind a national championship performance from the Distance Medley Relay, and a runner-up finish in the 4x400 relay and 3000m.
DAY ONE RECAP - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team traveled to Birmingham, A.L. for the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, and the Distance Medley Relay team of
Arjun Ojha,
Dawson Wadsworth,
Ryan Hagan, and
Pierce Young provided the highlight of the day by winning the national championship with a meet record time of 9:42.65.
The Knights sit in fifth place overall as a team, due to ten points from the DMR and an eighth place finish by
Emerson Comer in the 5000m. Comer picks up First-Team All-American honors with his eighth place finish, recording a time of 14:17.84. The men's 4x400 relay team also competed in their prelim, and the team of
Jacob Miller,
Andrew Kent,
Giancarlo Di Fava, and
Sam Belmont picked up the fastest time of the day to qualify for finals, recording a time of 3:12.80. Miller also competed in the 400m and barely missed on qualifying for the finals, racing to a ninth place finish for Second-Team All-American honors, missing out on finals by .01 seconds.
The men's DMR national championship marks the second in four years for the Knights, as the team ofÂ

Nick Andrews won the event in the 2022-23 indoor championship meet. The team of Ojha, Wadsworth, Hagan, and Young became the third overall DMR team to win the national championship.
DAY TWO RECAP - The Knights second day of action was highlighted by a pair of runner-up performances, with
Ryan Hagan taking second in the 3000m and the 4x400 relay team of
Andrew Kent,
Sam Belmont,
Giancarlo Di Fava, and
Jacob Miller also took second.
Hagan took second overall for the Knights in the 3000m with a time of 8:06.04, marking his second First-Team All-American honors of the meet after being on the winning DMR team. The 4x400 team joined Hagan as First-Team All-Americans, racing to a time of 3:11.13, which marks a new program best.
