ROCHESTER, N.Y. AND RALEIGH, N.C. - The SUNY Geneseo men's and women's outdoor track and field teams opened up the 2026 season at Rochester on Sunday, while
Ryan Hagan and
Sierra Doody traveled to North Carolina for the Raleigh Relays to compete against some of the best talent in the country.
Hagan competed in the 800m, and finished 12th out of 193 runners, mostly from Division I, with a time of 1:49.99, marking a new program record. Hagan also took on the 1500m, and finished 28th with a time of 3:43.50, marking the second fastest time in program history. Doody raced in the 800m, and finished 30th overall with a time of 2:09.34.

At Rochester, the Knights kicked off the track meet with the women's 1500m, where they swept the top three spots behind
Alexa Kosier (4:44.30),
Greylynn Guyer (4:45.20), and
Hannah Wierer (4:50.70). On the men's side,
Thomas Blake took first overall at 3:59.55, while
Sean Verbosky finished third at 4:02.15. In the women's 5000m,
Ari Reback and
Ann Brennan finished second and third, respectively, at 17:25.33 and 17:26.60. The men's team went on to sweep the top 10 spots, led by
Anson Butler at 15:12.57, with
Johnny Mudge in second at 15:24.24.
In the field events,
Lauren Jaklitsch placed second overall at 44.99, while
Jayden Carroll led the men at 46.31.
Payton Mehalick led the women's team in the shot put at 11.66, while
Chris Miller also placed fourth for the men at 12.54.
