GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team fell to St. John Fisher 13-10.
Natalie Long tallied her 100
th career point as a Knight and the team moves to 5-6 on the season and 3-1 in Empire 8 conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cardinals took a commanding 7-1 lead in the first, with the Knights only goal coming from Grace Reyna from a free position shot early in the quarter.
- The Knights worked to cut the lead, scoring three more before half. Reyna and Olivia Luchetti each found the net on a man-up free position shot, while Lila Warner got through Fisher's defense for a goal of her own, bring the score to 9-4 at halftime.
- Natalie Long recorded a hattrick in the third quarter, while Reyna and Rosemary Mahoney added two more for the Knights making it 11-9 in favor of the Cardinals.
- Emma McGuigan cut the lead to one with a goal at 13:40 in the fourth, but the Knights couldn't find the back of the net for the rest of the game, falling to St. John Fisher 13-10.
