Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Nazareth

ROCHESTER, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team competed against Nazareth on Saturday afternoon and earned a convincing 16-5 victory. With the win, the Knights improve to 6-6 overall and are 4-1 in conference action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Geneseo came out swinging in the opening quarter, taking a 5-1 lead over the Golden Flyers. Hannah Ruller got the Knights on the board just a minute and 20 seconds into the game. Shortly after, Natalie Long scored back-to-back goals, both assisted by Rosemary Mahoney. The Knights added two more before the end of the quarter.
  • The Knights continued to ride their early momentum in the second quarter, scoring six goals while limiting the Golden Flyers to one. Long netted her third goal with 8:57 remaining to complete her fourth hat trick of the season. Geneseo closed out the half with an 11-2 advantage.
  • Geneseo scored three times in the third quarter, with goals from Mahoney, Lila Warner, and Katie Rajkowski. Nazareth added two, as the Knights carried a 14-4 lead into the final quarter.
  • Geneseo added two more in the fourth, with unassisted goals from Grace Reyna and Shannon Day, securing a 16-5 win in an Empire 8 matchup.
