Men's Lacrosse Picks Up 18-6 Win Over SUNY Poly

UTICA, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team defeated SUNY Poly on the road, winning 18-6. The Knights now hold a record of 8-5 and 4-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The game stayed close to start the first quarter, but a three-goal run from Cole Parker, Ian Leahey and Ronnie Trebing with three minutes left gave the Knights a 6-3 lead over the Wildcats.
  • The Knights added another four before half with Leahey and Trebing each tallying a second goal, followed by Owen Ellick and Skyler Mitchell on a man-up goal in the final seconds of the half.
  • With a 10-4 lead entering the third quarter, Geneseo continued their momentum with another four goals, led by Aksel Stanat at 13:47, unassisted. The Knights finished out the fourth with another three goals while keeping the Wildcats off the scoreboard to secure a 18-6 victory over them.
 QUICK FACTS:
  • Ronnie Trebing led with Knights with five points, scoring four goals and an assist.
  • Jake Starkey went 11-11 on face offs, with an additional seven ground balls to lead the team.
  • Ben Bradshaw picked up his eighth win in net, making eight saves for the Knights.

  • The Knights will resume their game against Keuka on Monday, April 20th at 4 PM.
