LEWISBURG, P.A. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team traveled to Bucknell University for a meet against some of the top competition in the country on Saturday, April 11, and senior
Ryan Hagan etched his name in the record books, setting a new NCAA Division III record in the 1500m by posting a time of 3:38.67.
Hagan was dominant in the final lap of the race against Division I competition, out-kicking a pair of runners from Penn State to earn himself the first place finish and set the Division III record. Hagan's final lap came in at 55.40, becoming the first Division III athlete to go under 3:40 in a season, taking down the record of MIT's Ryan Wilson at 3:40.06.
Pierce Young turned in another solid performance for Geneseo, placing third overall in the 5000m race with a time of 14:08.74.
Emerson Comer took on the 10,000m and placed 11th at 29:53.00.
James Tette was the top finisher in the 3000m steeplechase, crossing with a time of 9:19.42 in 12th place.
Bryan Friedel and
Tim Sheahan competed in the 400m and earned times of 1:53.86, and 1:53.93, respectively, as the top two finishers for the Knights in the 400m.
