Men's Lacrosse Falls At #8 RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team traveled to No. 8 RIT on Wednesday evening, and fell by a score of 21-6. The Knights fall to 1-2 on the season with the defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights were first to get on the scoreboard, with Josh Knapp causing a turnover that led to a goal by Ryan Trebing off an assist from Ian Leahey. The Tigers were quick to answer back and go on a run of their own, but Jake Perinchief added another goal for Geneseo before the end of the first quarter.
  • Ryan Trebing added his second goal of the game in the following quarter, but RIT held the momentum going into halftime with a 12-3 advantage.
  • Ronnie Trebing, Perinchief, and Aksel Stanat all added goals in the second half, but Geneseo couldn't find a way to mount a comeback against the highly-ranked RIT squad and ultimately fell 21-6.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Sam Myung led the team with six ground balls, while Knapp added a team best four caused turnovers.
  • Ryan Trebing and Perinchief each led the offensive effort with two goals.
  • Ben Bradshaw tallied 11 saves in goal, while Aidan Ruhm picked up three more in the closing minutes.

Geneseo will host Clarkson on March 7 at 2 p.m.
