ONEONTA, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's lacrosse team came out on top over the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons 10-9 this afternoon, coming back from a 5-0 deficit in the first quarter. The Knights are now 5-3 on the season with a four-game win streak.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Knights went down 5-0 through the first 15 minutes of play, only putting up five shots compared to the Red Dragons twelve.
• Jake Perinchief got things rolling for Geneseo at 12:05, making a play in front of the net to get the Knights on the board. Askel Stanat ripped one from 12-yard out, followed by one from Ryan Trebing less than a minute later to make it 5-3.
• Oneonta added another, but the Knights answered back with two more from Jacob Pensabene and Ronnie Trebing to cut it to 6-5 at halftime.
•  The teams each added a goal in the third but Skylar Mitchell snuck one in at 1:20 to tie it 7-7 with a quarter left to play.
• The Knights went on to score three consecutive goals to open the final 15 minutes of play. Max Esposito gave the team their first lead of the game at 12:17 with a laser from the top of the zone, followed by Perinchief at 11:37 and Ryan Trebing with a diving goal through defenders at 8:47. The Red Dragons tried to make a comeback with two goals of their own Geneseo held strong, earning the 10-9 win.

QUICK FACTS:

• Ronnie Trebing leads the Knights with 23 goals so far this season, averaging 2.8 goals a game.
• Ben Bradshaw picked up his fifth win of the season, making 12 saves in net.
• Sam Myung had three caused turnovers against Oneonta, bringing his season total to 14.

The Knights will have a week to rest before their next matchup against Brockport on April 1^st at 4 PM.
