Hockey Tops Oswego 4-1

OSWEGO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team knocked down the No. 6 Oswego Lakers 4-1 this evening, advancing to 14-6-1 overall while Oswego drops to 14-5-1 in the non-conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights took an early lead against the Lakers after Nick Kovacs netted a slapshot from the top of the zone, giving Geneseo a 1-0 lead: Dakota Zarudny and Alex Dameski on the assists.
  • Cater Diceman extended the lead 2-0 with a wrap-around goal at 10:08, getting the pass from Jack McDonald behind the net for his 11th goal this season.
  • Oswego was able to sneak one in to make it 2-1 early in the third, but Ryan Forberg answered back on a 3-on-2 opportunity for the Knights, ripping one glove side to take back the two-goal lead.
  • Luke Panchisin sealed the game with an empty netter in the final three minutes of play, taking a shot from Geneseo's defensive zone and the Knights collect the 4-1 win against Oswego.
