BROCKPORT, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team went head-to-head with Brockport on Tuesday evening, falling 72-64. The Knights now sit at 14-6 overall and 8-3 in conference action.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Knights opened the scoring in the first quarter with Grace Galgano knocking down a three. Brockport answered quickly, and the teams traded baskets for the remainder of the quarter before Geneseo trailed 13-9 at the buzzer.
• Brockport gained a slight edge early in the second quarter as the Knights worked to close the gap. Despite the effort, Brockport extended its lead and Geneseo entered halftime facing a 35-24 deficit. 
• The Knights found its stride offensively in the third quarter, outscoring Brockport 19-15 and going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Brockport, however, maintained a 50-43 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
• Geneseo briefly pulled ahead in the final quarter after a layup from Eva Elliot put the Knights up 53-52. The game remained tight until the final two minutes, when Brockport capitalized on a Geneseo scoring drought to pull away for a 72-64 win.

QUICK FACTS:

• Galgano fueled the offense with a 17-point performance, going 3-for-6 from long range and adding 11 rebounds. 
• Audrey Hintz contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, hitting all four of her free throws.
• Maggie McGrane and Eva Elliot had seven assists each.
