GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo women's lacrosse team fell to the St. Lawrence Saints this afternoon 13-8. The Knights now sit at 0-3 to start their season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Saints got on the board first, but the Knights took a 3-2 lead by the end of the first quarter. Natalie Long scored the first goal for Geneseo and tallied another at the end of the first, along with one goal from Danielle D'Aiuto.  
• The second saw fierce competition from both teams as they headed into halftime tied 5-5. Hannah Ruller nailed a free position shot at 5:58 and followed it with another goal 90 seconds later to tie it up.
• St. Lawrence came into the second half ready to play, putting up five goals to the Knights one from Katie Rajkowski while on a man-up opportunity.
• Long and Rosemary Mahoney added two more in the fourth quarter to rally, but Geneseo was unable to make a comeback, succumbing to the Saints 13-8.

QUICK FACTS:

• Teagan Culhane made a career-high 17 saves for a .567 SV%.
• Natalie Long led the team with three goals.
• Violet Piccinini had a career high seven draw controls and leads the team with 10 this season.

The Knights are set to host Oswego (1-1) on Tuesday, March 4^th at 4 PM.
