GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team fell to the Elmira Soaring Eagles 4-3 this evening. The Knights fall to 10-6-1 with a UCHC record of 6-3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Elmira held control of the first two periods, taking a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.
• Dakota Zarudny got the Knights on the board to open the third period with a wrist shot, getting the assists from Alex Dameski and Payne Gatewood. Sean Melso netted a second while on the powerplay, going bar down to make it 3-2.
• Elmira added another off an empty-netter with a minute left in regulation, however Geneseo continues to fight back. Ryan Forberg scored one for the Knights after Carter Diceman found him across the crease for his fifth goal of the season. Despite their final push, the Knights fell to Elmira 4-3.

QUICK FACTS:

• Sean Melso tallied his sixth goal of the season and now leads the team with 19 points.
• Jacob Torgner made 28 saves for a .903 SV%.
