Hockey Stumbles In OT Against Manhattanville

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's hockey team fell in overtime 4-3 to the Manhattanville Valiants. The Knights now sit at 9-4-1 with a conference record of 5-2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Valiants struck first with the only goal in the first period to take the lead. Geneseo tied it up on the power-play to open the second, with Sean Melso driving it home, with assists from Alex Dameski and Sterling Wolters.
  • Henri Spoof gave the Knights the lead at 11:17, picking up the rebound in front of the net. Jackson Stimple and Stachowiak were credited with the assists. Manhattanville tied it with under a minute left in the second period.
  • The Knights went up 3-2 after Ryan Forberg lit the lamp five minutes into the third period, with the assist from Greg Diamond and Dakota Zarudny. The Valiants took advantage of a broken play and evened the score halfway through the period, forcing the game into overtime. Manhattanville secured the win 4-3 with a one-on-one goal, advancing to 2-11-1 overall and a conference record of 1-4-0.
