Men’s Soccer Falls At Ithaca, 1-0

ITHACA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team fell to the Ithaca Bombers 1-0, with Ithaca scoring a late second half goal to break the tie. The Knights are now 1-3-0 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Geneseo and Ithaca stayed tied through the first half. Max Crothall played a strong first half in goal, starting the game with a great save off a header from a free kick made by the Bombers. The Knights put the pressure on late in the first but were unable to get a goal.
  • The Knights continued to push to break the tie in the second, with Aidan Lodie and Dylan Thody putting great shots on goal. Crothall kept the team tied with a diving save in the 69th minute.
  • Ithaca managed to find the back of the net with under five minutes to play, taking the win against the Knights.

QUICK FACTS:

  • Max Crothall recorded seven saves in net, totaling 23 this season.
  • This marked for the first match up since 2014 between the two teams, with that game resulting in a 1-1 tie, and the Knights winning 2-1 in 2013.
