BUFFALO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo Women's Volleyball team competed against Alfred State on Friday evening in Buffalo. The Knights claimed a 3-0 victory and now hold a 6-5 record on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The first set was tight early on, but the Knights pulled ahead with an eight-point run, extending their lead to 17-7. From there, Geneseo maintained their momentum to secure a 25-13 win, with Kate Barba adding three kills in the set.
• The second set proved to be a close battle from start to finish. With Geneseo leading 20-18, Sydney Leigh-Manuell delivered a kill followed by a service ace to give the Knights a four-point cushion. Geneseo remained in command to close out a 25-19 win.
• Alfred grabbed an early lead in the third set, but the Knights battled back midway through to even the score at 14. Geneseo continued to dominate down the final stretch, sealing another 25-19 victory.  

QUICK FACTS:

• Zooey Gagnier led the team with 10 digs in the match, totaling 184 so far this season.
• Kate Barba and Sydney Leigh-Manuell registered eight kills apiece, averaging .226 kill pct.
• Gianna Lucchi recorded 16 assists, bringing her season total to 95.
