ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team took on Wheaton College (Mass.) and the University of Rochester in Rochester on Saturday. The Knights defeated both Wheaton and Rochester with a score of 3-2. Geneseo now holds a 5-5 record on the season.

Geneseo vs Wheaton College (Mass.):
- Geneseo came out strong in the first set, building an early eight-point lead before Wheaton managed to get on the board. The Knights kept their foot on the gas down the stretch, closing out the set with a 25-13 win. Kate Barba picked up three service aces in the set.
- In the second set, Geneseo held the lead for much of the frame, but Wheaton surged late with five consecutive points to pull ahead, 20-18. Wheaton stayed in command to finish out the set with a 25-22 win over the Knights.
- The third set was tightly contested from start to finish. With Geneseo leading 21-19, McKenna Callari notched a kill, followed by two more from Peyton Cole and a Wheaton attack error that sealed the 25-19 victory for the Knights.
- In the fourth set, Geneseo worked themselves into an early lead, but Wheaton battled back to narrow the deficit. With the score tied at 23, Wheaton capitalized on two errors from the Knights, pulling away to secure a 25-23 win.
- The teams headed into a fifth set as the deciding factor. Geneseo powered ahead, taking a 16-14 victory over Wheaton. Zooey Gagnier sparked the offense with three service aces.
Geneseo vs U of R:
- Geneseo maintained a steady lead to begin the first set, though U of R stayed within striking distance. The Knights started to widen the gap at 20-15, and then held firm to close out a 25-18 win. Cory Elder led the charge with three service aces.
- Riding that momentum into the second set, Geneseo broke away early to secure another 25-18 win. Sydney Leigh-Manuell tallied four kills in the set, while Barba added three.
- U of R came out swinging in the third set, controlling the pace of the offense early to open up a lead. The Knights couldn't bounce back, falling 25-18.
- The lead shifted back-and-forth early on in the fourth set, but U of R eventually jumped ahead to take a 25-17 win over the Knights. Barba contributed three kills, while Cole chipped in with two.
- The teams entered a fifth set with the match being tied at two sets apiece. The Knights held the upper hand, closing out the set 15-8 to claim the victory.
Quick Facts:
- Gagnier led the defensive effort with 53 digs on the day, moving her season total to 174.
- Ayla Pas'cal recorded a team-high seven blocks against U of R.
- Gianna Lucchi tallied 37 assists between both matches.
- Gagnier and Barba were named to the All-Tournament Team
