ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 17 SUNY Geneseo field hockey team suffered their first loss of the season in a hard-fought 2-1 loss against the No. 18 Ithaca Bombers. The Knights move to 4-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo wasted no time getting on the board, with Ella Greico finding the back of the goal shortly after the first minute.
• The next goal wouldn't be until five minutes into the 2^nd quarter, Ithaca found the net despite some good looks and pressure from Geneseo. There were 8 combined penalty corners before this goal.
• Ithaca scored again early into the 3^rd quarter. Geneseo made a valiant effort, being the only team to get shots off in the 4^th, but they couldn't find the goal and took their first loss on the season.

QUICK FACTS:

• Ella Greico scored her sixth goal of the season.
• Ava Harman posted five shots in the game for the Knights.
• Bridget Schafer saved three shots in 60 minutes in goal.
