ONEONTA, NY - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team won 2-1 over the Hartwick Hawks in their first conference match of the season. The Knights improved to 3-3-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Geneseo and Hartwick battled hard in the first half, but neither team was able to take the lead after 45 minutes of play. 
• Kyle Arraiano opened the second half with the team's first goal of the game, scoring at 49:58. Dylan Thody found Arraiano in the box, who went right post to make it 1-0. 
• Owen Burke made it 2-0 after a beautiful header from a lofted kick made by Charlie Sorensen at 60:41.  
• Hartwick scored their only goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 67th minute. The Knights maintained their composure, with Jace DiPalo taking a shot but it ricocheted off the crossbar. Geneseo held strong through the final minutes to capture their first conference win of the season.  

QUICK FACTS: 

• Max Crothall picked up his third win of the season, making five saves against the Hawks. 
• Burke scored his second goal of the season, tying his career high from last year. It also marks his second career game-winning-goal.  
• This marks the team's third win against Hartwick, second since entering the empire 8.

The Knights will play at home on Wednesday, September 17th against Alfred State at 4 PM.
