GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team squared off against Buffalo State on Friday afternoon in Rochester, falling 3-2. The Knights now move to 3-5 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first set was a close battle, with both teams going point-for-point. With the score tied at 25, Kate Barba delivered a kill followed by a service ace to clinch a 27-25 win for the Knights.
- In the second set, Buffalo took control early, racing out to a nine-point lead before the Knights were able to find their rhythm. The Bengals continued to apply pressure, and Geneseo couldn't recover, falling 25-17. Barba tallied five kills in the set, while Cory Elder chipped in with three service aces.
- Buffalo held a steady lead throughout the third set, with Geneseo staying within reach. At 11-8, the Bengals capitalized on a few errors to extend their advantage to 15-8. Buffalo remained in command, closing out the set with a 25-17 victory over the Knights.
- In the fourth set, Geneseo opened the scoring on a kill by Elder followed by a service ace from Barba. The Knights held strong, maintaining their lead and cruising to a 25-19 win. McKenna Callari contributed back-to-back service aces, while Sydney Leigh-Manuell added three kills in the effort.
- With the match being tied at two sets apiece, the teams entered a decisive fifth set. Buffalo worked their way to a six-point margin, and carried their momentum to a 15-11 win over the Knights.
