Maddie Brown Records 200th Career Point In 22-4 Win Against Sage

ALBANY NY: The Geneseo Women's Lacrosse team defeated the Sage Gators 22-4. Maddie Brown tallied her 200th career point against the Gators, scoring four goals and eight assists. The Knights are now 6-5 overall and 3-0 in conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Maddie Brown scored the first goal of the game for the Knights 50 seconds into the quarter, assisted by Alaina Reina. Sophie Lyko, Hannah Ruller, and Brown continued to push, all scoring within a minute of each other and extending the Knights lead to 4-0.
  • Grace Reyna, Natalie Long, Alaina Reina, Katie Rajkowski, and Olivia Luchetti (2) each tallied a goal, and the Knights ended the quarter leading the Gators 10-1.  
  • Sage struck first in the second, but Reyna went on to score three more goals and recorded her first career hattrick. Lyko and Brown (2) both found the back of the net and the defense kept the Gators to two goals through 30 minutes of play.  

  • Luchetti nabbed two more goals in the this, one while a man up. Rajkowski secured another on a free-position shot and the Knights ended the third 19-4.  

  • The Knights kept Sage scoreless in the fourth and tallied three more goals, scored by Ruller, Cate Doxsee and Dany Elmer. Geneseo ended their weekend with the 22-4 win over Sage.  

QUICK FACTS: 

  • Maddie Brown recorded her 200th career score. She is now 8th in program history to secure over 200 career points. She also tied the record for most points in a single game with 12.  

  • Luchetti, Reyna and Brown each scored four goals against Sage.  

  • This is the first time in program history the Knights and Gators have met on the field. 

QUICK FACTS: 

The Knights will travel to St. John Fisher University (10-0) on Wednesday, April 9th for a 4 PM game.
