GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team battled some tricky weather conditions as they hosted their Early Season Invite for their second outdoor track and field event of the spring season.
Bergen Caprood earned the first top finish for the Knights, crossing the line first in the 100m with a time of 10.75 seconds.
Sam Belmont and
Arjun Ojha followed it up in the 400m by finishing first and second with times of 49.12 and 49.58, respectively. Geneseo kept the momentum going into the 800m, where they placed runners in the top three spots.
Matthew Sheehan led the way at 1:53.20, while
Ryan Hagan and
Connor Hitt took second and third, respectively.
Jacob Miller and
Jack Towns finished in the top two spots for the 200m, while
Emerson Comer,
Anson Butler, and
Pierce Young finished first through third in the 5000m. The team Ojha, Belmont, Sheehan, and Miller went on to win the 4x400 relay to round out the track events with a time of 3:15.97, marking a new facility record.
Sean Stewart highlighted the field events for the Knights, winning the triple jump at 13.08m. Teammate
Chris Desiderio took third, and Stewart also finished top-five in the javelin on Friday. For the full results from the meet,
