GENESEO, NY: The Geneseo Men's Lacrosse team defeated the Alfred Saxons 16-7 in the Empire 8 quarterfinals. The Knights advanced to the semifinals, set to play Nazareth on the road on May 1st.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Geneseo opened the quarterfinals with at 11:54, with a great shot by Ian Leahey, assisted by Ryan Trebing. Alfred grabbed one of their own but Max Esposito answered back, finding the back of the net with three minutes left in the first.  

• Ryan Trebing tallied the Knights third goal at 11:13, followed by one from Jimmy Atkinson a minute later. The Saxon notched two before Ronnie Trebing sailed one past the goalie to bring the half to 5-3.  

• Alfred snagged the first goal in the third before Geneseo locked in, going on a six-goal spree started by Ryan Fitzgerald. Ryan Trebing and Jimmy Atkinson each notched two goals and Henselder had one of his own.  

• Geneseo took over in the final fifteen minutes, with five goals coming from Atkinson, Leahey, Henselder, Ryan Trebing and Luca Schettino. Geneseo takes down the Alfred Saxons 15-7 and advances to the Empire 8 Semifinal game vs. Nazareth.  

QUICK FACTS: 

• Riley Henselder and Ryan Trebing led the team with six points each; two goals and four assists, and four goals and two assists, respectively.  

• Sam Myung and Aidan Crane had a combined 13 ground balls and six caused turnovers.  

• Andrew Tittmann made 10 saves while in net, taking home his 11th win of the season.

The Knights will head to Nazareth on Thursday, May 1st for a 4 PM faceoff against the Golden Flyers.
