ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team competed at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic on Saturday, April 26, the team's final meet before the Empire 8 Championship Meet next weekend at Brockport.
The Knights came away with multiple top performances in the track events, including
Mike Taranto winning the 1500m race at 3:58.74, while teammate
Anson Butler came in fourth. In the 5000m, Geneseo saw five runners place inside the top-eight, with
James Tette,
Drew Cox, and
Kole Owens leading the way in first, second, and third, respectively.
Dylan Friel finished second in the Steeplechase, and the 4x100 relay team of
Trey Feirman,
Andrew Kent,
Jack Towns, and
Jackson Burton finished third to highlight the top performers.
In the field events,
Sean Stewart picked up an AARTFC qualifying distance and second place finish in the triple jump at 14.04m.
Raymond Trottier joined him with a regional qualifying distance in the shot put at 15.04m, while
David Lang took fourth in the javelin at 47.91m.
