GENESEO, NY: The Geneseo Women's Lacrosse team swept Alfred 25-0 in tonight's matchup. The Knights are on a five-game win streak, with an overall record of 10-6 and conference record of 7-1.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• The Knights entered the game hot, scoring 12 goals in the first quarter. Natalie Long had an impressive five goals while teammate Alaina Reina tallied three of her own, both capitalizing on free-position shots. 

• Maddie Brown opened the second for the Knights, scoring two more in the first five minutes of play. Olivia Luchetti, Grace Reyna and Reina each notched a goal during the quarter and brought the Knights to 17-0 after half.  

• Geneseo saw four more goals in the third. Cara Calicchia scores her first collegiate goal while Lyla Warner secured another on the man-up free-position shot.  

• The Knights continued to play hard in the final fifteen minutes of play, with Reina, Long, Warner and Hannah Ruller scoring the final four goals of the game. Geneseo remained strong on defense and secured their first shutout of the season, winning 25-0 

QUICK FACTS: 

• Natalie Long led the team with six goals, leading the team with 43 this season.  

• Sarah Ginnane totaled six caused turnovers and four ground balls against Alfred. 

• Alaina Reina and Maddie Brown each tallied six points this evening; Reina with five goals and one assist whilst Brown had four goals and two assists.

The Knights will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday against the visiting Utica Pioneers at 1 PM.
