ALFRED, NY: The Geneseo Men's Lacrosse team secured a victory on the road against the Afred Saxons. Geneseo has a 9-6 overall record and 6-2 in Empire 8 conference play.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Geneseo saw a six-goal lead in the first quarter, with Riley Henselder notching the first. He was joined by Ryan Trebing, Ian Leahey, Ryan Fitzgerald, Luca Schettino and Askel Stanat, making it 6-0 after 15 minutes of play.  

• Jimmy Atkinson tallied two of his own in the second quarter, with assists from Leahey and Jake Perincheif. Schettino notched his second, along with goals from Perinchief and Cal Oberst, and the team went into halftime with the 11-0 lead.  

• Leahey, Fitzgerald and Trebing each scored in the third before Alfred got their first goal of the game with less than a minute left in the third. Alfred had a good performance in the final quarter, scoring four more, but Geneseo held strong and secured the 15-5 win over the Saxons.  

QUICK FACTS: 

• Five Knights scored two goals this game: Luca Schettino, Ryan Trebing, Ian Leahey, Jimmy Atkinson and Ryan Fitzgerald.  

• Andrew Tittman made nine saves while in net and teammate Wes Ralph made six.  

• Sam Myung led the team with 6 ground balls while Aidan Crane led with five caused turnovers.

The Knights will face off against Utica on the road for their final regular season game on Saturday afternoon.
