Softball Celebrates Senior Day Against Utica

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo softball team celebrated its four seniors on Saturday, April 12 in a doubleheader against Utica and the Knights came away with one win after cruising to a 12-3 victory in game two. Geneseo honored Kaitlyn Schmitz, Hannah Olejniczak, Haley Coombs, and Tara Brochu with a brief pre-game ceremony.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Geneseo scored two runs in the inning via bases loaded hit by pitches, then Bella Nadzan hit a two RBI single, and Fraas delivered a three RBI triple to highlight the rest of the inning.
  • Utica added two runs in the top of the fifth, but the Knights wouldn't let them come any closer to a comeback and earned the 12-3 victory to improve to 16-6 overall and 6-2 in the Empire 8.
