GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team began outdoor competition on Saturday afternoon with a home meet after weather caused a last-minute change in venue.
Ryan Hagan and the Knights kicked things off in the 1500m, with seven runners placing in the top nine. Hagan placed first at 3:57.72, while
Nick Bauman,
Connor Hitt, and
Matthew Sheehan took second through fourth. Geneseo went on to also win the 4x400 relay at 3:30.83, and the 10,000m behind
Emerson Comer at 32:37.13.
Pierce Young,
Anson Butler,
Austin Schoen,
Mike Taranto, and
Justin Thang went on to place second through sixth in the 10,000m. In the field events,
David Lang provided a highlight for Geneseo, taking first in the long jump at 6.19m.
Chris Desiderio capped off the first place finishes for the Knights in the triple jump, posting a distance of 12.76m.
