GENESEO, N.Y. - The Empire 8 announced its All-Conference honors for men's basketball on Thursday afternoon, and
Josh Garelle highlighted the list for SUNY Geneseo with Third-Team recognition. Additionally,
Michael Gentile was named to the Sportsman of the Year Team for the Knights.
Garelle played a key role in the Knights push to the playoffs this season, leading the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game. The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native was extremely efficient as well, shooting 56.1 percent from the field on the season. Garelle also tallied 6.4 rebounds per game, good enough for second most on the team.
One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2024-25 Men's Basketball Sportswoman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen and Gentile earned this distinction for the Knights.
