ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team traveled to Nazareth on Friday evening, competing in their final meet before the Empire 8 Championship meet next weekend.
Emerson Comer led things off in the track events with a first-place finish in the 5000m, crossing the finish line at 15:08.94.
Anson Butler kept the winning ways going in the mile with a first place finish and time of 4:20.24, while
Sam Viglione was two seconds behind in second place.
Brendan Style went on to finish first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.33 seconds, while
Matthew Sheehan took second in the 400m at 51.03 seconds.
Ryan Hagan competed in the 800m for the Knights, and placed first with a time of 1:53.56.
Joshua Goldberg tacked on another first place run for Geneseo, crossing the finish line in the 1000m at 2:35.08. To close out the track events, the 4x400 relay team of
Jack Hislop,
Brett Doxsee,
Bryan Friedel and
Matthew Sheehan finished second at 3:30.04. Highlighting the field events was
Chris Desiderio and Style in the triple jump, placing second and third as they both recorded a distance of 12.86.
