ROCHESTER, N.Y. AND BOSTON - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team split up this weekend and competed at both Nazareth and Boston. The Knights put up impressive performances at both meets, setting multiple new marks in the program record book.
On Friday at the Boston Valentine Invite,
Charlie Wilson highlighted the action by setting a new indoor program record in the 5000m with a time of 14:17.41. Also at the Boston meet, the team of
Sam Belmont,
Jack Towns,
Arjun Ojha, and
Jacob Miller competed in the 4x400 relay and finished with a time of 3:13.75, marking the second fastest time in program history and currently top-five in Division III. In the 400m, Miller moved to second all-time in program history with a time of 48.02, while Belmont (48.74), Towns (48.89), and Ojha (48.91) also moved into the top-10. Rounding out the Boston meet was the team of
Brendan Style,
Andrew Kent,
Andrew Donner, and
Matthew Sheehan in the 4x400 with a time of 3:19.01, the ninth fastest in program history.
At Nazareth,
Austin Schoen highlighted the competition with a second place finish in the 3000m, crossing the finish line at 8:42.75. In the 60m,
Bergen Caprood earned a third place finish with a time of 7.06. In the 5000m,
Kole Owens earned a top-five finish with a time of 15:20.78.
