ALFRED, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't pull out a win at Alfred on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Saxons 64-58. The loss drops Geneseo to 9-15 overall on the season and 6-9 in Empire 8 action, while Alfred improves to 13-11 and 9-6 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jackson Casey jump started the Knights offense with five of the first seven points, then Robert Pericolosi drained back-to-back three's to give the Knights a slim 13-11 lead. The Knights went on to trail by as many as six at the halfway mark of the first half.
- The Knights closed the half strong, with a couple of clutch jump shots from Trevor Hofer to allow Geneseo to cut the deficit to two points going into halftime.
- Geneseo came out firing to start the second half, going on a 18-3 run to open it up. Powered by three-straight three's from Hofer, Colin Gentile, and Casey, the Knights went ahead 50-37 with 10 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, Geneseo's offense couldn't keep the momentum going down the stretch, and they ultimately fell 64-58.

- Casey and Hofer each chipped in 11 points, while Gentile added nine of his own.
