AMHERST, MA: The SUNY Geneseo Men's hockey team was upset by the Amherst Mammoths 3-0 this afternoon. The Knights are now 5-3-1 overall and remain 3-1-0 in UCHC conference play while the Mammoths advance to 3-2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo and Amherst held strong both offensively and defensively to stay scoreless through the first period.
• Amherst got on the board in the second, scoring on the powerplay to go up 1-0. The Knights were unable to even the score and headed into the third trailing Amherst.
• Geneseo pushed hard in the third, but Amherst was able to find the back of the net twice through the third period, securing the win 3-0 over Geneseo. The Knights fall to 5-3-1 as they head to Williams College tomorrow night.

QUICK FACTS:

• Ian Vandenberg made 29 saves in net.
• The Knights have faced off against the Mammoths six times and now have a 4-1-1 record against Amherst.
