GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team suffers first conference loss to the Nazareth Golden Flyers 2-1 this evening. The Knights now sit at 5-2-1 overall and a 3-1-0 in UCHC conference play, while the Flyers finish the weekend 4-4-0 and 1-3-0 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Golden Flyers capitalized on a powerplay to take the 1-0 lead eight minutes into the first period. The Knights pushed back, putting 13 shots on net before the end of the first but were unable to tie it up.
• Geneseo started the second period hot, with Carter Diceman narrowly missing his shot to tie it up. Nazareth found the back of the net on another powerplay to extend their lead to 2-0.
• The Knights answered back at with three minutes left in the second period on a powerplay of their own. Geneseo cycled the puck with Dakota Zarudny finding an open Ryan Forberg, who lit the lamp with 2:07 to play. Danny Bagnole was on the second assist.
• The Knights were unable to mount the comeback during the third, despite putting up 18 shots on Nazareth. The Knights fall to the Golden Flyers 2-1.
