ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo field hockey team won 1-0 against The University of Rochester on Wednesday afternoon. Aubree Wenner scored the Knights lone goal, giving Geneseo an 11-1 overall record and seven-straight wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• The Knights battled hard in the first half, putting up six shots and three penalty corners against the Yellow Jackets, while keeping Rochester from taking any of their own. However, Geneseo couldn't jump ahead on the scoreboard and entered halftime in a 0-0 tie.

• Geneseo got on the board halfway through the third period as Aubree Wenner snuck one past the goalie with a shot from nine yards out. Sam Lewis and Ella Greico put pressure on Rochester but were unable to add another goal to the score.  

• The Knights continued to push, adding six more shots from Shannon Cunningham, Ava Harman, Halle Senfield, Greico and Wenner. Geneseo closed out the game, keeping the Yellowjackets scoreless to extend their win streak to seven.  

QUICK FACTS: 

• Aubree Wenner scored her 9th goal of the season, putting her second overall in Empire 8.  

• Bridget Schafer tallied her 11th win and sixth shutout.  

• The Knights are currently 3rd in the nation in scoring margin, outscoring their opponents 48-6.
