Women's Soccer Ties Nazareth

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team traveled to Rochester to face off against the Nazareth Golden Flyers in Empire 8 action on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a 0-0 tie. The draw moves the Knights record to 3-4-6 overall and 3-1-3 in Empire 8 play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Knights started the game off hot, picking up multiple offensive opportunities early. Abby Foster had a shot go wide 30 seconds into the game, and Grace Engle added another shot a minute later that was blocked.
  • Geneseo's defense held strong in the half, facing five shots with three reaching target, but kept Nazareth off the scoreboard and entered the half at 0-0.
  • In the second half, goalkeeper Emily McLouth held off the pressure she was facing from the Golden Flyers, but Geneseo's offense was unable to get the spark they needed to take the lead as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
QUICK FACTS:
  • McLouth had 13 saves in the game, she now crosses the 50 save threshold for the season with 55 on the year.
  • Julia Carter, Carly Chupick, & Foster all had shots on goal this game
